WGI hosts “European Conference on Physical Education and School Sport”
As part of its 30 year anniversary, the Willibald Gebhardt Institute is hosting a “European Conference on Physical Education and School Sport” in Münster, Germany. The event will take place on Monday, October 17, 2022, and Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at the conference venue of WWU Weiterbildung. “We are very excited about the scholars that have accepted our invitation to present at our Eurpean Conference. We are bringing some of the leading experts on Physical Education and School Sport together and hope to provide valuable impulses for knowledge transfer”, said Dr. Heinz Aschebrock, President of the WGI.
In this European Conference results of some selected country reports will be presented. Although many of the given criteria were reviewed in each country, there still is a prominent national feature which highlights national concepts and deliverables of PESS in the country. The conference organizers have picked up some topics of the European review study on which national experts with their European expertise will report on.
The topic and structure of the conference were developed in accordance with a review project on research of physical education and school sport (PESS) in different European states. PE experts in about 20 countries across all cultural setting of the continent were asked to review the state of the art of PESS with identical criteria for each country.
