International CEREPS Summit 2026

From June 29 to July 1, 2026, the Willibald Gebhardt Institute will host the CEREPS Summit 2026 at the Franz-Hitze-Haus in Münster. This event, in cooperation with CEREPS as a European research network in the field of physical education and school sport, offers the WGI and the Institute of Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Münster a great opportunity to present their work in an  international context, learn from invited experts and build their collaborative networks. The Institute of Sports Science’s “Education and Teaching in Sports” department, headed by Nils Neuber (who is also vice president of the WGI), is closely involved in the planning and implementation of the conference.

Numerous guests from Europe and the German sport science community, especially from North Rhine–Westphalia, are expected in Münster. A total of around 60 to 70 researchers, practitioners, multipliers, coaches, and politicians will exchange ideas on the topic of children’s and youth sport in schools and sport clubs.

The three keynote presenters are:

• Bernhard Kalicki (German Youth Institute, Munich, Germany):

  Growing up of children and adolescents with exercise, games, and sports

• Amika Singh (Mulier Institut, Utrecht, Netherlands):
  Active Schools, Lifelong Movement: Translating Evidence into School Practice

• Kristy Howells (Canterbury Christ Church University, UK):

  CHIME for Early Childhood: UK and European Perspectives on Education, Health and Inclusion

The conference will also feature a Young Scholar Award and a respective poster session on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. FIEPS and EUPEA will present invited symposia. Attendance is by invitation only – a registration form will be vailable soon.

CEREPS is inviting young scholars to submit their work and apply for the CEREPS 2026 Young Scholar Award. More details and an application form will be publsíshed soon.
