DOA anthology “Educational Potentials of the Olympic Idea” features WGI chapter by Roland Naul

After much preparatory work, the current publication of the German Olympic Academy appeared in September. The anthology “Educational Potentials of the Olympic Idea” is also available online and has therefore been published as an open access version. An access link can be found on the homepage of the DOA website. Prof. Dr. Roland Naul, former senior professor at the University of Münster and vice-president of the Willibald Gebhardt Institute until 2020, is one of the authors.

Roland Naul, who is still active as a WGI project partner in various networks, has contributed the chapter “Historical and pedagogical foundations of Olympic education” to the DOA anthology.

Dr. Gerald Fritz, Director of the German Olympic Academy, was delighted with the current publication: “This marks a major milestone with a comprehensive publication on historical, educational and social science topics as well as current Olympic issues and developments, also from athletes’ and administrators’ point of view.

At the same time, Fritz thanked the editors for initiating the project, in particular Stefanie Pietsch, as well as the authors for the valuable and exciting contributions and the DOA book team for the high level of commitment and effort in implementing the publication.
